Since 1970 Anne has
been living and working
in Rockport, Maine. The
area, with its beautiful
coastline, mountains,
blueberry barrens and
farm lands has provided
her with plenty of
material for her now
well-known line of notecards and calendars.
The first designs were hand-printed blockprints
in two or three colors that she marketed
in local shops. Eventually she moved to offset
printing to satisfy the increasing business
in and around New England.
Anne was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico
in 1937 and spent her formative years in
eastern Massachusetts. Her extended family
includes artists who embraced many
disciplines including architects, designers and
painters, all of whom had some influence on
her direction and provided plenty of
criticism. Teachers in public school, Putney
School, Colorado College and Rhode Island
School of Design contributed to her
understanding of composition and color. Her
images are sought after as original
watercolors and as signed prints.
These days, she can be found working in
her flower gardens in fair weather and
otherwise in her studio producing new
images for next year. In this special part of
the world there is no lack of inspiration to
keep her busy through the long winters.
For over twenty-five years Pen & Inc of
Concord, New Hampshire has been her
publisher and marketer. Together we welcome
your continued support, suggestions
and visits to our website as well as to the
many shops that carry our products. |
